Tyson to spur demand, not cut production
Tyson Foods plans to increase demand rather than cutting production as a long-term strategy, company executives said Friday (Feb 6).
The company do not plan to cut production at this point, said Leland Tollett, Interim President and CEO.
Tyson will make the determination on when it need to change something in its production levels, but it depends on inventory levels and growing the company's business, said Donnie Smith, Senior Group Vice President of Poultry & Prepared Foods.
Tyson will focus on fast-growing international markets such as India, and on new product development, especially in partnership with customers.
The company is focusing on helping customers grow their business and as their business grows, Tyson's business will also grow, Smith said.
