New swine fever outbreak in Croatia
Croatian authorities have confirmed a new outbreak of classical swine fever in the eastern part of the country.
The outbreak comes just three months after thousands of pigs were slaughtered in the region to control the epidemic.
In Jul 2006, swine fever hit the eastern part of Croatia. The epidemic resulted in slaughtering some 11,000 pigs, causing losses of EUR 1.1 million (US$1.4 million).
