Buhler to design packaging system for Alltech

Global animal health company Alltech has hired Buhler, the worldwide leader in the design and construction of packaging systems, to design and install a fully automated packaging system for its plant in Brazil.

The new system would be built using stainless steel to create a true food grade quality packaging system.

Four dryers would feed eight individual silos that would allow Alltech to have complete flexibility in packaging the full line of products. From these silos, product would be gravity-fed to a state of the art carousal packaging system. The latter would then fill and seal bags at a rate of 10 bags a minute.

The project, to start immediately is expected to be complete in a year.
