China's fishmeal imports in December down 21.5% to 82,272 MT
 

According to the General Administration of Customs, China imported 82,272 metric tons of fishmeal in December 2004, down 21.5 percent from November's imports of 104,790 metric tons.

The December imports came mostly from:

• Peru:       50,468 metric tons;
  
  
• Chile:      14,435 metric tons;
  
  
• USA:        3,234 metric tons. 

From January to December 2004, China's fishmeal imports totalled 1,123,082 metric tons.
