India Oct-Jan soymeal exports up 14 percent at 1.98 million tonnes

India soymeal exports during October-January were 1.98 million tonnes, up 14 percent from the year-ago period due to increased demand from Vietnam and Japan, the Soybean Processors Association of India said Thursday (February 7).

India's October-January soymeal exports to Vietnam rose 52 percent on the year to 512,528 tonnes and exports to Japan rose 78 percent to 341,355 tonnes.

Exports of soymeal in January were 724,526 tonnes, up 35 percent from January 2007, the association said.
