Yasheng announces industrialisation plans for FMD vaccine
The Yasheng Group announced on Feb 2 industrialisation plans to produce commercially a vaccine that fights foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).
The 100,000-square-foot facility is currently in the design and development stage. The headquarters and sales department will be situated in Beijing while the production facility will be in Gansu Province of China.
The group intends to set up the manufacturing of an FMD synthetic peptide vaccine that is tested to be three times more effective than virus-activated vaccines. It is also more cost-efficient than existing products.
Research of the FMD peptide vaccine is still in the initial stages in China. The company plans to export the vaccine around the world.
