Russia's February grain exports may reach up to 1.7 million tonnes

Russia's grain export forecast for February 2012 amounts to 1.6-1.7 million tonnes.

In March 2012, it will amount to 2.4-2.5 million tonnes; thus, the general volumes by the end of March 2012 - 23.5-23.7 million tonnes.

According to data of the analytical center of OJSC "Rusagrotrans", since July 2011 to January 2012 Russia exported 19.5 million tonnes of grains. In particular, in January 2012 the exports volumes decreased in over two times compared to December 2011 - to the level of 1.36 million tonnes, due to unfavourable weather conditions and worsening of work of the deep-sea ports, and freezing of the small ports.

Taking into account the fact that the final grain production volumes in Russia in 2011 totalled 93.9 million tonnes, up 2-3 million tonnes compared to the previously forecasted results by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the Government of Russian, the potential volume of grain exports may reach up to 27-28 million tonnes, declared the report of the analytical center.

It is noted that since June 2011 traders sold 6.93 million tonnes of Russian grains via tenders (Egypt was the main importer - over 3.6 million tonnes). The volume of tender supplies of Russian grains in January 2012 - 585,000-695,000 tonnes, in February - to 775,000 tonnes, in March and April - to 455,000 tonnes each.
