Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily bans grain exports
Ukrzaliznytsia imposed the temporally limit for provision of grain carriers for transportation of other types of agricultural products (oilseed cakes, meals) from Ukraine.
Realising the strategic objectives of the government, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) directs all its resources for transportation of grain cargoes, according to the announcement of the press-service as of February 3, 2012.
This is due to the increase of applications for transportation of grain cargoes in the country, and due to the inability to control the return of rolling stock from abroad (grain rail cars have the status of rail cars of the inventory fleet). "Ukrzaliznytsia" focused grain carriers for transportation of the harvest-2011 volumes within the territory of the country.
As of to date almost one thousand of grain carriers is working outside of Ukraine, and, unfortunately, in the near future, the rolling stock will not return in Ukraine for the domestic transport supplies, said the announcement.
The general inventory fleet of grain carriers of "Ukrzaliznytsia" totals 11.579 units.
As previously reported, with reference to the association "Ukroliyaprom", fat-and-oil enterprises of Ukraine are on the edge of complete shutdown due to the lack of ability to export oilseed cakes and meals by railways.
