USDA sells 101,000 tonnes corn to Japan
US private exporters reported to USDA export sales of 101,000 tonnes of corn for shipment to Japan.
Of the total 50,500 tonnes is for delivery during the 2010/2011 marketing year and 50,500 tonnes is for delivery during the 2011/2012 marketing year, the USDA said Friday (Feb 4).
The marketing year for corn began September 1.
US exporters are required to report to the USDA any export sales activity of 100,000 tonnes or more of one commodity, made in one day or quantities totalling 200,000 tonnes or more in any reporting period, to one destination, by 3:00 p.m. EST (2000 GMT) the next business day, according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service. Any export sales under these quantities must be reported on a weekly basis.
