China methionine prices flat amid light trade
Prices of methionine were flat during the week ending February 5.
Most large-scale buyers have completed their pre-festive stockpiling hence resulting in slower demand of late. Nonetheless, methionine dealers were not eager to lower prices, knowing that it would not stimulate sales with buyers preparing for the Chinese New Year break.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were in the range of RMB29.60-30.20/kg.
Trade is expected to be light in the coming period as feed millers and dealers halt business for Chinese New Year celebration. Prices should stay around current levels.
