Animal Health International posts lower Q2 net income

 
 

Animal Health International, Inc. posted second -quarter net income of US$2.3 million or US$0.09 per share, compared to US$5.5 million or US$0.23 per share in the prior year period.

 

On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of US$0.18 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

 

Net sales declined 9.2 percent to US$184.5 million from US$203.2 million in last year period. Four Wall Street analysts expected revenues of US$179.91 million.
 
Animal Health International, Inc. is engaged in the distribution of animal health products in the US and Canada through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
 
Some of the products the company's subsidiaries distribute include pharmaceuticals, vaccines, parasiticides, diagnostics, capital equipment, sanitizers, pet foods, devices and supplies.
 
The company was founded in 1954, and has its corporate headquarters located in Westlake, Texas.
