Ukraine may be among top five grain exporters in 2008-09
Ukraine may become the fourth or fifth largest grain exporting countries in the current marketing year (July 2008-June 2009), said a minister.
Grain exports are expected at 24-25 million tonnes, based on the record grain yield of 53.3 million tonnes in 2008, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Luzan said.
Ukraine has already exported nearly 15 million tonnes of grain, said Luzan, who added that the country has efficient infrastructure for successful grain exports both for this year and in the future.
