Fort Worth Company recalls beef products due to E. coli
Nearly 16,000 pounds of beef products were recalled by Fort Worth's PFP Enterprises due to E. coli contamination, as announced by the USDA's Food Safety & Inspection Service.
The recall involves 10 to 40 pound boxes of beef products that were produced Dec. 5, 2013 and distributed to stores and restaurants in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico.
E. coli is a bacterium with strains that can cause severe food poisoning. There have been no reports of illnesses.
The recalled beef can be identified by the USDA Mark, bearing the marking 'EST 34715'.
