GASC buys 240,000 tonnes of Russian, French, Khazakh wheat
Egypt's state-owned wheat buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), said on Wednesday (Feb 3) of its purchase of 240,000 tonnes of Russian, Kazakhstan and French wheat on a free-on-board basis.
Of the total, GASC has bought 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat from Aston, 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat along with 60,000 tonnes of Kazakhstan wheat from Venus.
The three shipments were all sold for one price of US$174.90/tonne, said Nomani Nomani, undersecretary of the vice-chairman of GASC.
GASC also bought another 60,000 tonnes of French wheat from Glencore at US$173.90/tonne, Nomani added.
The wheat is for shipment on April 10-25, 2010.
