Uni-President Enterprise Corps said it is mulling entry into the Chinese dairy product sector through a co-operation project with Heilongjiang Wondersun Dairy Co.

Uni-President Enterprises president, Alex Lo announced his company is considering increasing its current 9 percent share in Wondersun as well entering into a co-operation agreement involving the Chinese outfit's fresh milk arm.

Lo, who did not give details on the possible cooperation or the size of the stake the Taiwanese company might take in Wondersun Dairy, said the company hopes to raise their stake in Wondersun, but it would not be easy ever since the Sanlu incident.

He added that the Sanlu incident led to a change in thinking by the Chinese government regarding resources companies.

Uni-President Enterprises is Taiwan's largest food producer by revenue. It already has a presence in the Chinese market thanks to its 73 percent share of beverage and instant noodle manufacturer Uni-President China Holdings Ltd.
