Hain Celestial recalls frozen chicken on peanut scandal

Pennsylvania-basd Hain Celestial Group is recalling about 983,700 pounds of frozen chicken entrees, which contain peanut products recalled by the Peanut Corp. of America on salmonella contamination.

The problem was discovered in response to the widespread recall of all peanut products produced since 2007 by Peanut Corp's Blakely, Georgia facility which is linked to a nationwide outbreak of salmonellosis.

The chicken products were distributed to retail establishments throughout the US. The products subject to recall are 10-ounce cartons of Ethnic Gourmet Chicken Pad Thai, and 12-ounce bowls of Trader Ming's Spicy Kung Pao Chicken.

The FSIS has received no reports of illnesses associated with the consumption of these frozen chicken products.
