CJ's Lysine Plant in Indonesia Hit by Flood; More Than 1000 Tons of Lysine Damaged (February 5, 2004)

According to CJ office in Hong Kong, its lysine production plant in East Java, Indonesia, was hit by a flood on Wednesday, with water level as high as one meter above ground. More than 1000 tons of lysine was reportedly damaged.

 

At the time the incident was reported, the production plant was being cut off of water and electricity supply, and production was temporarily halted. The lysine plant is expected to resume production three or four weeks later, says CJ representative in Hong Kong.

 

CJ Group is one of the major lysine producers in the world. Its plant in Indonesia exported more than twenty-two thousand tons of lysine to China in 2003.
