Australia's December beef production increases by 0.1 percent
Australia's beef production rose by 0.1 percent in December to a seasonally adjusted 177,830 tonnes from 177,608 tonnes in November but is 6.5 percent down on year, the government's Bureau of Statistics reported.
Total slaughtered cattle in December, excluding calves, was 665,200 heads, up 1.6 percent on month but down 7.0 percent on year.
Australia exports about two-thirds of its beef production, with 90 percent shipped to Japan, the US and South Korea.
