Japan purchases its first April's wheat
Japan purchased 94,389 tonnes of US milling wheat on Thursday's (Feb 2) tender for April's shipment.
The government bought the wheat in three grades for bulk shipment in April, said the official, who is with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Japan has already covered its wheat-import requirements through March. This was the first purchase for April shipment.
Japan, one of the world's largest wheat importers by volume, purchases milling wheat from the US, Canada and Australia.
