EW Nutrition launches animal plasma alternative

EW Nutrition has launched Promote PR70, a complete replacement for animal plasma for all piglet diets.

The product is a blend of natural ingredients that can fully replace all functions of animal plasma. The beneficial effects of plasma stem from its concentration in immunoglobulins.

Promote PR70 has a comparable source of immunoglobulins, designed for young pigs, from hyper-immunised eggs. The immunoglobulins in the product have strong affinity and avidity, which enhance its effectiveness, especially against diarrhoea-causing pathogens.

The product contains a blend of dairy and vegetable proteins treated specifically to achieve a high level of digestibility, comparable to that of plasma. The proteins include whey protein, potato protein, wheat gluten, soy protein, and pea protein, all of which have their own functional properties contributing to enhanced gastrointestinal health.

Promote PR70 also has levels of sodium and chloride similar to those in animal plasma.
