China's GDP up 9.9 percent in 2005
At a press conference on Jan 25, Commissioner Li Deshui of China's National Bureau of Statistics said that GDP totalled RMB18.2321 trillion in 2005, up by 9.9 percent from 2004. The annual GDP growth rate was slightly lower than the 10.1 percent seen in 2004.
Primary industries accounted for RMB2.2718 trillion of GDP, up by 5.2 percent from 2004. Secondary and tertiary industries made up RMB8.6208 trillion and RMB7.3395 trillion of GDP respectively, an increase of 11.4 percent and 9.6 percent respectively compared with 2004.
GDP growth for Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 2005 was 9.9, 10.1, 9.8 and 9.9 percent respectively.
China's annual mean exchange rate in 2005 was RMB8.1917 to US$1. This converts the 2005 GDP to US$2.2257 trillion or GDP per capita of US$1,700.
