2004 Q4 prices of live hog and pork fell across all major producing regions in China. With expansion in commercial production, hog supplies expected to meet both seasonal, long-term increase in pork consumption.
- Live hog, pork prices fell slightly in Q4;
- Higher hog inventory in major producing regions; hog demand & supply stable;
- Higher demand for pork ahead of the Spring Festival will stabilise prices.
