Indian Beef Reenters Saudi Arabia
Indian beef has regained entry into Saudi Arabia after a 20-year ban due to health and hygiene concerns over Indian livestock and meat.
Indian beef is expected to compete strongly in price sensitive market sectors, such as bulk catering and manufacturing. These sectors have typically been supplied by lower valued protein sources including imported Australian mutton, Brazilian beef and poultry from South America, China and Saudi Arabia.
Reports have suggested that beef imports from India will reach 1,000 tons per month.
