UAE passes ordinance on poultry and meat imports

 

 

UAE's Ministry of Environment and Water has passed an ordinance which will regulate conditions for the import of thermally treated red meat and poultry 

 

Ordinance No. 12 of 2012, issued by Minister Dr Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad, will be applicable to importation of processed meat from countries which have reported cases of foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever.

 

It will now be mandatory for an exporter to submit the necessary health certificates issued by the concerned authority in the exporting country.
