Rusagro Group to invest US$198 million into poultry farm

Rusagro Group will invest RUB6 billion (US$198 million) in a poultry farm to produce 100,000 tonnes of poultry per year in the Tambov region.

The regional administration has already started to prepare documents for the Agriculture Ministry seeking co-financing of a project. The project will be launched in two years.

The region currently operates two poultry farms - Arzhenskaya in the Rasskazovsky district and Stepnoye Gnezdo OJSC in Sampursky. However, both plants produce eggs, therefore the Rusagro project may become the first producer of poultry in the Tambov region.
