US firm recalls frozen chilli beef products

Oklahoma-based Windsor Quality Food Co. Ltd. is recalling 676,560 pounds of frozen chilli beef products that may contain pebbles or small stones, the USDA said on Friday (Jan 30).

Windsor is recalling the 5-pound bags and 20-pound cases of frozen ''Whitney's Chili with Beans'' after receiving 16 reports from consumers who found foreign objects in the products, and four reports of injury.

The products were produced November 6, 2008 to January 13, 2009, and were distributed to food service and limited retail establishments, according to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
