Russia reduces out-of-quota import duties on beef
As of Feb 17, Russia's import duties on out-of-quota beef will fall 40 percent from the previous year's level, says a US Department of Agriculture report.
Russia has issued a decree to lower out-of-quota import duties on numerous categories of beef from 50 percent or not less than EUR 0.65/kilo (US$0.84) for chilled beef and 52.5 percent but not less than EUR 0.53/kilo (US$0.69) for frozen beef to 30 percent but not less than EUR 0.30/kilo (US$0.39).
The out-of-quota import duty on poultry products will remain unchanged from the 2006 level of 60 percent but not less than EUR 0.48/kilo.
The decree comes into force on Feb 17 this year.
