Australia to allow British pork
Australia has finally agreed to allow import of British pork in the country.
The agreement was a result of collaboration between the British Pig Executive (BPEX), Defra, British processing firms, the Meat and Livestock Commission Brussels office and Australian authorities.
Currently, Australia imports most of its pork from Denmark and Canada, said BPEX export manager Jean-Pierre Garnier.
He said they were in the process of analysing the market to target their exports correctly.
