Russian firms join grain intervention buying
 

 

The public purchasing grain intervention of Russia accredited 231 companies to participate with a declared crop volume of 1.296 million tonnes of grains as of January 31, informed the press-service of OJSC United Grain Company.

 

The auction on January 31, which was attended by 27 companies, put up 14,850 tonnes of grains of the harvest-2011. During the exchange sessions the public intervention fund purchased 14,850 tonnes of grains at the sum of RUB69.12 million (US$2.28 million), including: 12,150 tonnes of 3-grade milling wheat (with the average price of RUB4,700/tonne) (US$155) and 2,700 tonnes of 4-grade milling wheat (with the average price of RUB4,450/tonne) (US$146.75).

 

Since the beginning of the public purchasing interventions of grains of the harvest-2011, the state intervention fund purchased 360,315 tonnes of grains at the sum of RUB1.65 billion (US$0.05 billion).
