Japan seeks to import wheat for coming April

Japan put up a tender on Tuesday (Jan 31) requesting for 94,389 tonnes of US milling wheat to be imported into the country.

Japan government is seeking the wheat in three grades for bulk shipment in April and the tender will be finalised on Thursday (Feb 2), said the official with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Japan has already purchased 474,705 tonnes of wheat this month for shipment in March.
