DeBruce to increase Mississippi grain storage capacity

DeBruce Grain Inc. announced on January 28 that it will be making significant improvements to its Rosedale, Mississippi, US grain facility.

The improvements include two 90-foot diameter steel tanks, each with a capacity of 530,000 bushels, as well as construction of a 55,000 bushel hopper tank and a new overhead truck load-out system. Receiving and distribution rates to the new tanks are rated at 40,000 bushels per hour and the reclaim and load out rate at 50,000 bushels per hour.

DeBruce said the new improvements will allow the facility to have a total storage capacity of 1.9 million bushels.

The new additions will allow the Rosedale facility to function more efficiently during harvest and expand the company's ability to handle grains, said Paul DeBruce, chief executive officer of DeBruce Grain Inc.

The equipment at the facility will also be integrated and managed with computers and will require a minimal amount of manpower to operate the high-speed truck and barge loading system. The facility is able to load barges with soy, corn, wheat and rice at a rate of 50,000 bushels per hour.
