DLG launches new export product, Vilofoss
The Danish owned DLG Group has launched a new export brand for its vitamins and minerals product, Vilofoss, at NutriFair in Fredericia, Denmark.
According to DLG CEO Jacob Holm, the new export brand will act as a "unifying brand" for when the companies of the group operate outside their respective home markets. For example, in Demark and Germany the product will keep its earlier brand names, Vitfoss and Deutsche Vilomix respectively.
The brand Calcialiment also continues unchanged in France. However, throughout the European Union, the product will be marketed under the Vilofoss name.
"With the ambitions we have in the field of vitamins and minerals, the proper approach is to cultivate a strong common brand. We are very optimistic about this, as our current individual brands have a strong position in the market", said Holm.
Vilofoss is a feed ingredient that eases the farrowing process for pregnant sows, thus reducing mortality rates. The product helps to relax the muscles around the uterus, resulting in quicker farrowing and less exhaustive parturition. In addition, it also reduces possible complications in new-born piglets.
With a turnover of over €5.5 billion (US$7.46 billion), the DLG Group is the largest cooperative farm supplier in Denmark and supplies chemicals, grain and fertilisers throughout Europe as well as manufacturing and marketing vitamins and minerals premixes for animal feed production.
