Pakistan Trading Corp To Issue Wheat Import Tender Feb

The Trading Corporation of Pakistan will issue a import tender for 100,000 metric tons of wheat by the middle of February, its chairman told local newspaper Daily Times.

The newspaper quoted TCP Chairman Syed Masood Alam Rizvi as saying the TCP would look for wheat from Russia and Argentina as well as other origins but they don't want a repeat of the last tender's offers.

The TCP has imported one million tons of wheat during the last six months while in December it bought 250,000 tons of wheat from Australia for February shipment and 150,000 tons of wheat from Canada.

"This is for exploring more options," Rizvi told the paper. "We have struck deals with Australia and Canada and purchased wheat from Russia so it's time to check more wheat supplying countries."
