BIOMIN to host mycotoxin conference at VIV Asia 2015
    
 

The "Mycotoxins in Focus: Trends, Facts, and Effects" conference will provide an insight into the latest mycotoxin trends and occurrences to delegates at VIV Asia 2015 in BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand.


The second edition of the conference will be held on March 12 in the afternoon of the second day of VIV Asia, in partnership with VIV and media companies.


With its annual BIOMIN Mycotoxin Survey running for over a decade, BIOMIN has become the leading authority on mycotoxins, according to the company. The second edition of the conference builds upon the success of the inaugural edition held at VIV Europe 2014 in Utrecht, The Netherlands.


The presentations from BIOMIN experts and renowned academics from Asia will provide new insights into mycotoxin risk management, an overview of developments on mycotoxin occurrences in Asia over the last decade, and their effects on animal production.


The conference begins at 2 pm with opening remarks from Dr. Jan Vanbrabant, managing director of BIOMIN Asia Pacific. Dr. Shu Guan of BIOMIN Singapore will present key points from the latest mycotoxin survey, including trends in mycotoxin occurrence and the proliferation of mycotoxins in feed and feed raw materials in Asia.


Next, renowned industry experts from Asia will deliver species-specific presentations. Dr. Pariwat Poolperm, from Kasetsart Univeristy, Thailand, will discuss the economic impact of mycotoxins in swine farms. Prof. Dr. Charles Rangga Tabbu from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, will present on the common pathological lesions of mycotoxicosis in poultry.


The presentations will be followed by an open Q&A session.
