Avlita's 2012 grain processing to increase by 75%

 

 

An increase in grain processing by 75% to 1.8 million tonnes in 2012 is Avlita's plan as against 2011, the enterprise said.

 

According to the report, in the second half of 2011, the stake of Avlita in export of crops through Ukraine's ports made up 9%. In 2011, the company bulked 1.035 million tonnes of grain shipped onto 44 grain vessels.

 

In particular, the company transported 420,800 tonnes of wheat, 35% or 225,600 tonnes less than in 2010; 346,800 tonnes of barley, 14% or 44,800 tonnes more, compared to 2010. Besides, in 2011, corn bulking increased by 780% or 226,200 tonnes.

 

In 2011, two deepwater moorings of the company handled 229 vessels, 14.5% or 29 vessels more than in 2010. Besides, they managed 49,179 railcars, 6.1% or 2,827 railcars more than in 2010.

 

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Avlita stevedoring company (Sevastopol) increased the volume of transhipment of grain crops by 48% or 279,000 tonnes to 865,000 tonnes over the first half of the 2011/12 marketing year, which is between July 2011 and December 2011.

 

Avlita in January has announced its plans to increase handling general and loose goods by 24.7% to 4.5 million tonnes in 2012 as compared with 2011.

 

Avlita stevedoring company owns two deep-water berths in the Sevastopol Bay in the Crimea. The company handles steel products and operates a grain terminal capable of storing 170,000 tonnes at once.

 

The total annual handling capacity of the transhipment complex is up to 5.5 million tonnes of cargo, including two million tonnes of metal products and 3.5 million tonnes of grain. SCM Limited (a subsidiary of the SCM closed joint - stock company) owns 100% of Avlita.
