Beijing's pork prices drop, first time in winter

Beijing's current pork wholesale price is RMB21.5/kilogramme (US$2.9), the first time it dropped this winter.

The report was based on the price monitoring information released by agricultural product wholesale markets such as Xinfadi, Dayanglu and Shuitun on January 27.

Beijing's pork price has been climbing since the start of this winter, with the highest wholesale price hitting RMB22.1/kg (US$3), according to observers.

The wholesale pork price has declined by 2.7 percent, attributed to the increasing domestic supply.
