Vion plans to restructure head office

Plans to restructure the organisation of Vion Head Office in Eindhoven and Vion ICT Services in the Netherlands were announced by Vion N.V. on November 19, 2012.
This is an essential step resulting from the company's new course. Vion will continue as two independent divisions, Food (in the Netherlands and Germany) and Ingredients (worldwide). Vion N.V. will become a smaller strategic holding, the size of which will be in line with the new organisational structure. This will increase efficiency and reduce costs. The proposed organisational changes will affect approximately 50 staff in general support departments and ICT.
Vion's Head Office and the Dutch ICT Services employ approximately 140 staff. Approximately 25 staff will leave the company, around 15 are expected to being made redundant. Approximately 25 staff will be re-deployed at other Vion companies. The Works Council has been asked for advice.
Vion N.V. is an internationally operating food company with two core activities: food and ingredients. The group produces high-quality foodstuffs for humans and animals. In 2011, VION's turnover amounted to EUR9.5 billion (US$12.8 billion). At the close of 2012, the company employed more than 25,000 staff.
