Aqua Gen Chile appoints new managing director

Patrick Dempster will take over the position as managing director in Aqua Gen Chile from Svein Sorvik, effective June 1, 2010.

Sorvik will enter a new position within marketing and business development at the Aqua Gen headquarters in Trondheim, Norway.

Dempster has held a number of positions in the fish farming industry. During his 10 years within the AKVA group he was employed as CEO for AKVAsmart Chile, CTO for AKVA group in Norway and more recently as Managing Director Canada and North America. He has previously worked in the Chilean salmon industry as Production and Operational Manager in Salmones Multiexport.

Dempster holds a degree in agriculture engineering from the Catholic University of Chile and later a Master of Science from Stirling University of Scotland.

Aqua Gen is a selective breeding company which develops, produces and delivers genetic material to the global sea-farming industry.
