China's Guohong Group completes hog processing plant
One of Jiangxi province's largest integrated hog processing plant, which is owned by Nanchang-based Guohong Group, started production last Friday (Jan 25).
Approved by the National Development and Reform Commission as one of the key projects under China's eleventh five-year plan (2006-2010), this plant has a slaughtering capacity of 1 million heads of hogs per year and it can produce 80,000 tonnes of processed pork products per year.
Construction of the plant, which cost RMB180 million in initial investment, began in September 2006. The integrated plant occupies a 24-hectare site in Jiangxiang district, 20 km north-east of Jiangxi's provincial capital Nanchang.
This project is expected to boost Guohong's annual revenue by RMB1.1 billion.
