Fly control specialists ink agreements
Terregena Inc. announced on January 15, 2008 that it has entered into a marketing and distribution agreement with Rincon-Vitova Insectaries.
The agreement is for the sale and distribution of beneficial insects used to control pests in poultry, dairy and other agricultural operations in the US.
Flies are the source of major concern in animal houses as they spread disease and are a persistent nuisance to employees. It can even be the source of legal issues with nearby communities.
Earlier this year, Terregena entered into an exclusive marketing and distribution agreement with JABB for balEnce, a natural fly-killing product that is recently approved for sales by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Terregena said it would market balEnce with Rincon-Vitova's natural beneficial insects as an all-nature control program for the management of pestilence problems.
Terregena is a privately held, international marketing and distribution company of products for the agriculture, animal health and veterinary markets throughout North, Central and South America.
Rincon-Vitova produces and distributes insects and other organisms, supplies and tools for the biological control of pests. It has been a research-based pioneer in the use of natural, beneficial insects in integrated pest management programs for more than 50 years.
