Albania Bans Poultry Imports From Bird Flu Countries

Albania banned poultry imports from Asian countries following an outbreak of bird flu virus that has caused the deaths of at least 10 people in Thailand and Vietnam, authorities said Thursday.

All categories of birds of Asian origin were banned under the Agriculture Ministry's order.

Authorities issued the order as a precaution, because Albania doesn't normally import poultry from Asia.
