Australia's unfavourable reaction makes Chinese dairy investors wary
Partly due to growing concern over a nationalist backlash, Chinese investors in Australia's dairy industry are stepping back from trying to take control of companies in the sector.
According to Grant Healy, the director of National Australia Bank's Asia desk, around half the Chinese investors that approached the lender as far back as a year ago seeking Australian dairy assets have now opted for off-take agreements as a way of securing milk supplies through a binding contract.
