Russia's meat prices to remain stable
Russia's poultry and pork prices will remain stable despite the change in foreign currency exchange rates, according to the Agriculture Ministry's press office.
Russia's poultry and pork producers have guaranteed their ability to offset the planned 300,000-tonne reduction in import quotas for poultry and 200,000-tonne cut in quota-free pork supplies through higher domestic output.
Beef prices will depend on imports dynamics, said the ministry.
Russian dairy producers are also concerned over the EU's decision to restart export subsidies on dairy products.
Given the current economic conditions, the ministry and key agricultural groups must work out a food market policy to prevent price hikes, said Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev.
