Australia's 2013 meat exports to MENA region up
In 2013, Australian meat exports to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region soared last year to just under 185,000 tonnes.
According to Meat and Livestock Australia, Australian beef and lamb exports to the region reached record highs in 2013, with 61,793 tonnes of beef and 61,250 tonnes of lamb exported. Beef and lamb exports rose 89% and 12%, respectively.
The United Arab Emirates accounted for 23% of the Australian red meat exports to the region.
