Corn prices mostly stable in China; weak in the southern consumption regions (January 27, 2005)
An eFeedLink Exclusive Report
Corn prices were mostly stable in China early this week. With the Spring Festival drawing nearer, trade activities were light in the corn market.
In the Yellow / Huai River production regions, prices remained generally stable following a slight increase in sales in recent days.
With the tightness in rail transportation not likely to improve any time soon, corn prices in the north-eastern production regions were weak amid market stability. In the southern consumption regions, corn prices continued to soften early in the week due to waning demand in the market.
