Rise in China's December lysine imports
China imported 2,592 tonnes of lysine in December, up 306 tonnes from November.
For the period from January to December 2006, China's lysine imports totalled 24,862 tonnes worth about US$30.42 million.
In particular, imports from Brazil totalled 786 tonnes. Shipments from the US registered 725 tonnes, up 525 tonnes from the previous month. Imports from South Korea fell by over 1,000 tonnes from November to register 477 tonnes. China imported 198 tonnes and 403 tonnes of lysine from Thailand and Indonesia respectively.
