Cargill introduces new system of nutrients for pork producers

Cargill has announced an enhancement to its net energy system of nutrients for young pigs. Cargill's net energy system has gone through several major upgrades since its first use in 1986. This enhancement enables pork customers to predict daily weight gain in young pigs with greater accuracy.

The new approach is specifically geared towards the energy needs of young pigs, taking into account the fact that they gain a higher proportion of their body weight in protein, said Istvan Szorad, brand manager. The new system it will also lead to more stable caloric intake, more predictable weight gains and a faster uptake of essential nutrients, Szorad said.
