Ukraine reforms agricultural trade market

Ukraine creates a working group, patterned to its Agrarian Exchange, to outline a general concept for the development of the exchange market for agricultural products trade, stated by Agrarian Exchange Director Oleksandr Mariukhnych.

The group comprises competent market participants: the Ukrainian Grain Association, the National Association of Exchanges of Ukraine, traders, the National Bank of Ukraine, the banks Aval and Credit Agricole. Experts are revising all the suggestions and comments of the market participants, coming in the context of developing the concept. After improvements, the draft will be submitted to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, Mariukhnych said.

According to the Agrarian Exchange director, adoption of the concept will be a reliable basis for stable development of the domestic commodity market.

This year, the Agrarian Exchange is set up to multi-vector work. In particular, it is planned to develop and launch a number of major projects for the agricultural sector.

"Within the new concept of the exchange market development, we will work in several directions at once. This is organisation of an electronic exchange trading system based on WEB-solutions, the formation of a transparent market price for agricultural products, as well as the introduction of full settlement and clearing services of exchange trading," the Agrarian Exchange director said.
