Income for Ukraine's Bershad plant grows 33 percent
Ukrainian News learned from a company spokesman that the Bershad poultry processing plant's revenue has increased by 32.54 percent or UAH 17.65 million (US$3.5 million) to UAH 71.9 million (US$14.2 million) in 2007 from 2006.
In 2007, poultry production was up 30.3 percent to 9,128 tonnes and sausages production was up 8.6 percent to 38 tonnes as when compared to 2006.
The spokesman added that the production increase is connected to the steady high demand for the plant's output and expansion of productive capacity.
Ukrainian News reported the plant's production value increase was 55 percent to UAH 6.7 million (US$1.32 million) in December 2007 as when compared to December 2006.
Bershad poultry plant ended 2006 with a net profit of UAH 2.308 million (US$460,000 ), having increased production value by 70 percent.
The enterprise is an open joint-stock company founded in 1976 specializing in growing and processing broiler meat.
The Andrushko family owns three-quarters of the shares in the company.
