Hong Kong stops buying eggs from India

With increasing egg supply from China and the US, Hong Kong has stopped buying eggs from India.

As the threat of bird flu outbreaks recede in China, Hong Kong companies have started buying Chinese eggs again and discontinued imports from India.

Hong Kong started importing eggs from India in November 2005 after the bird flu threat re-surfaced in China. Hong Kong placed an order for two containers every week through December from India.

So far, India has exported 9 containers to Hong Kong for the months of November and December last year.
